I want to eat!

imagemeatballThe Meatball Shop

Let’s step away from fashion for a bit and focus on my current cravings.  It isn’t one that is going to make me any skinnier, but who cares because it’s going to make me full and satisfied.

The meatballs at The Meatball Shop isn’t your typical meatball.  I’m not the best at describing things, but it’s just damn good.  You choose your choice of what kind of meatballs you would like, your sauce and some sides such as risotto or  spaghetti.

You may wonder, “Is it over the type amazing”?  Well, no.  It’s better than average.  The concept is fund and it’s good.  It’s good enough to have you craving for more after you try it for the first time.

Sad part is the wait is long because most of their restaurants are small and no reservation.  I’d still wait though.  The hungrier you are, the better the food tastes, right?

If you’re ever in NYC, just stop by.  It’s worth a trip, trust me. Okay, unless you’re a vegetarian, then maybe not.

Inspiration Randomness

, , , ,

Today is total randomness.  I’ve been pretty busy at work and at home, but today is total boredom.  So I thought I’d show you guys what the wall by my desk looks like.  It’s filled with inspirations for work and just daily living.  Which leads me to wonder, do you guys post any pictures on your wall at home or at work just for pure inspiration?

Oh, I have one picture of myself today also, just in case your miss my face.  lol

Layering with a statement

, , , ,

Hi Everyone.  I know I have been gone for a while and I apologize for that.  Due to the holidays and work, I’ve been extremely busy.  However, I’m back with the latest updates on trends and don’t forget there’s only a few more days left to enter my giveaway.

No matter what season it is, you can’t ever really go wrong with layers.  It just all depends on what it is that you are layering.

For example, everyone in Australia right now is enjoying summer; which makes it a perfect time to layer accessories.  Your fingers aren’t limited to only one ring anymore.  Give your outfit of the day a little vintage and flare with multiple accessories such as layers of bracelets or my favorites are layering rings and watches.

If you are like me and is still battling the winter, don’t think that layering accessories isn’t for you.  Your hands won’t go missing during the winter, so layering rings are an all year round trend.

Also, the perfect way to layer your bracelets and watches in the winter is to wear a light sweater and move the sleeves up a little to expose your skin, where you will cover it up with a watch and multiple bracelets.

Imagine going out to eat with friends or a date, then taking your coat off and displaying how well you accessorize.

The sexy you for New Years Eve

, , , , , ,

New Year’s Eve celebration is just around the corner and with crazy holiday shopping, we sometimes tend to forget about our outfit for the big night.

So what’s in for this big night?  Sequin skirts of course.  You will definitely see a lot of full sequin dresses hanging on the rack at the department stores, but skip those and leave them behind with 2011.

This year, the it outfit is looking sparkly yet classy with a mid-thigh sequins skirt and loose sheer blouse, finish with 3 to 4 inches high heels.  And please do not dare to move that skirt higher than your mid-thigh because that will change the whole concept of classy.

A benefit of this outfit is that you can wear it more than once after NYE.  It is so easy to pair up the skirt with another top, leggings and a long fitted coat.

When it’s cold, it’s freezing

It’s not even winter yet and the weather in NYC is beyond what I can handle.  Okay, I’m exaggerating.  However, we are expecting a much colder winter this year.

Yesterday, I loaded myself with layer goodness to help bare the stinging cold.  Layering during cold weathers can sometimes lead us to looking a little bulky, but to avoid comments about how bulky you look,  the trick is to look comfortable in your own clothes.  This requires more than just your choice of clothes, but also your confidence when you’re walking down the street.

This was one of my comfy days, wearing Zara hoody underneath with Forever21 jeans, Tommy Hilfiger flats,  H&M beanie, Gap scarf, Louis Vuitton bag, Prada glasses, and Miss Sixty coat.

Oh and above is my delicious dinner from last night.  Yummy.

Attach to the detachable

, , , , , ,

Yay! I did it! Yesterday I posted pictures of me with my draft of a DIY detachable collar and mentioned that I would do a nicer one over the night.  Well, five hours later of hand stitching everything, it’s done and the results are what you see above.  Looks like these are going to be my new fave accessory for a while.

I’m going to make more of these over the weekend.  I would love to know what you  think of it and what outfits would you pair it with?

Hanging by a collar

, , , , , ,

These are quick snap shots of this morning.  I wanted to show you guys the DIY detachable collar I made last night.  After drooling over the Eleven Objects version as worn below by Man Repeller, I decided to give it a shot at DIY before I splurge over $300.

The DIY version I made took 10 minutes from suede and not entirely what I wanted, as this is more of a draft.  I’m going to give it another shot tonight and make a different version.

If you haven’t heard of the detachable collar yet, well it’s time to hop on the trend because these will be out style as soon as the season changes.  You might be able to pull off light color ones in Spring, but by the time summer comes around, you’ll hear girls turning their heads saying, “That was so last year”.

So what’s so cool about these new accessories?  It adds accents to your outfit as the statement piece.  This is an easy way to mix patterns, texture, and colors with a simple top.  It’s the perfect piece when putting together an outfit and you feel like something is missing.

Have you  seen these around or tried them out yet?

Lips so fine…

, , ,

Believe it or not, many woman aren’t a huge fan of lipstick.  I’m included in that group.  Unless you are a big make-up fanatic, lipstick is frown on or at least for me (at one point).

1. You have to worry about getting it stuck on your teeth

2. Your partner doesn’t really like kissing you with it on

3. It tastes horrible (not that I take bites out of it)

4. You have to keep reapplying

5.  It looks gross on the glass when you go out to eat

However, for that picture perfect kodak moment you want, lipsticks aren’t so bad.  If you ever plan on taking pictures; whether at a wedding, graduation party, cocktail party or for your blog, lipsticks are recommended.  If you really hate lipsticks, try color lip gloss. It brings out the color of your lips.  I’m not saying you have to be daring and put on bright red lipstick.  However, even something nude or light pink will still define your lips more for a better picture taking experience.  I know I noticed that I like my pictures more when I have something on my lips.

Look at celebrities, you never see them on the red carpet or on magazine covers without lipstick.  A little color couldn’t harm us, right?

Walking on Studs

Nelly Trend: Forget Your Boyfriend PumpsValentino Studded FlatsDolce Vita Studded FlatsAlexander McQueen Studded Booty

On my wish list for the holiday this season are some studded shoes; whether it be flats, pumps or boots.  Just when I thought it was over, studs and nailheads make its’ way back into trend and modernized itself with a twist.  A couple of years back, it was the pryamid studs that were in style and seen everywhere in magazines.  However, this season, it can be any kind of studs from flat, dome, to bullet style.

Besides on shoes, studs has also become very popular on light denim jackets with a slow movement towards the late 80s and early 90s coming back.

What do you think of the selections above?
